Offline Retrieval

Footage Retrieval pulls a clip from the camera through the Traknova platform. You can also connect to the camera directly from your phone and pull footage straight off its SD card, without going through the platform at all. This is useful if you need footage immediately, or the camera isn't online.

This method uses a free companion app, available on both iPhone and Android, that connects to the camera over its own local Wi-Fi.

Getting started: viewing your footage

Step 1: Download the app

Search for HikDashcam in your phone's app store, or use the links below:

Step 2: Turn on the camera's Wi-Fi

Press the Wi-Fi button on the side of the camera. Wait for the light to start flashing — that means it's ready to connect.

Step 3: Connect your phone

Go to your phone's Wi-Fi settings and connect to the network starting with G40-****, using the password supplied by our team.

info

Your phone may warn that this Wi-Fi network "has no internet access." That's expected — you're connecting directly to the camera, not a router. Tap Stay Connected if prompted.

Step 4: View your footage

Open the HikDashcam app and connect to the camera. From there you can:

  • Watch a live feed to check your camera angles.
  • Open the gallery to download saved clips directly to your phone.
  • Watch back footage stored on the SD card
  • Update settings of the camera
